Be very careful when you rent a car at this office. Check thoroughly and report any scratch you find no matter how small they are. Take pictures and videos for evidence of future trouble. BE AWARE- Bogus Claims are likely at this location. You should take a complete video of the whole car including the undercarriage. They hit me with a claim of scratches on the underside of the bumper. I have better luck renting cars in Mexico. This obviously is not a corporate location. If this happens to you, please file a complaint with the Alaska Attorney General's office so that we can stop this behavior. Agree with the other reviewers, that this rental agency will attempt to charge you exorbitant amounts for bogus claims. They are currently trying to charge $1000 for "scratches on the bumper" supposedly detected by the carwasher. This claim comes over a month after renting the car for 10 hours. No proof was sent, no photos. Beware of this place! Be cautious!!! I just got charged $1300 for a door ding I didn't know was there. If you do rent here make sure they go out and inspect the car with you. I won't be renting with Avis again! Due to high demand in vehicles and only 2 rental car company's on the island that are located right next to each other have monopolized the rental car market it costs 65-80 dollars a day for the rental + 30 dollar insurance and an additional + 20 dollars is your under 25 per day= 95-130 dollars to rent a car they won't even let you put fish or game in. I would recommend renting from uhual before renting from avis or budget uhual charges 20$ a day + 20$ insurance and aprox 87 cents a mile which you shouldn't travel to far anyway because there's only 100 miles of road on the island and it's a truck you don't have to worry about getting dirty.
