This place is a 47 mile drive from town. We got stuck here after our guide booked another group to stay in the nice lodge just on the outskirts of town. Make sure you bring everything you need with you including shampoo, soap and food. It's a long way back. Don't expect much in the way of cleanliness either. I gave this one star for the fact that the roof didn't leak on us and a second star for the hot water in the shower. Also, for the love of all things holy, don't go on the four wheeler excursion with the folks that own this place. Our group of full grown men were doubled up on an 18 mile trip. Two of the four wheelers and one 4 seater broke down on the trip. We ran out of gas in another. The lights didn't work. After this debacle, we drove out just over two hours after dark using headlamps and pocket flashlights. Our guides got lost and wasted over an hour finding the right road back. After that, the guides folded like a cheap lawn chair. Our group took over and got ourselves out. You've been warned... Imagine that you have been lost in the Kodiak wilderness for a week. You are cold, tired and hungry. The bugs have been biting you incessantly. Then you stumble upon this place. I can't think of any other reason why you would want to stay here.
